Leadership in library science and education will help drive aggressive, high-impact research
Networks Financial Institute (NFI) has named Martha Henn McCormick as its new research coordinator. McCormick will support a research agenda that is focused on identifying gaps in the financial services arena, both from a regulatory and industry needs perspective. Working with other NFI staff, sponsored research fellows and industry leaders, McCormick will coordinate research that facilitates educated, informed leadership in areas of critical importance to the financial industry.
Prior to joining NFI, McCormick served as assistant professor and assistant librarian at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). As a faculty member, she led and served on multiple committees including teaching and learning, and distance learning, as well as filling multiple roles within the women’s studies section of the Association of College and Research Libraries. McCormick also served on the University College Curriculum Committee.
“Martha’s depth of experience in library science applied in a breadth of research areas provides NFI with a critical knowledge base that will assist us in achieving our agenda,” says Liz Georgakopoulos, NFI’s executive director.
Networks Financial Institute was founded in 2003 with a grant from the Lilly Endowment. The non-profit organization serves as an outreach program of Indiana State University and focuses efforts on improving financial literacy, advancing important financial issues impacting Indiana and funding research. Networks Financial Institute is headquartered in Indianapolis with bureaus on the campus of Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Ind., Washington, D.C., and a yet-to-be-determined international location in one of Europe’s financial markets.
